The art of Balearic blown glass dates back to the 2nd century BC. C. and consists of introducing an iron tube (the canya) in a quantity of molten glass. The opposite end is then blown and the glass is inflated like a balloon. To work this "balloon", the tube is rotated in both directions and the blower shapes it with the help of wet newspaper, molds, different instruments, even freehand. When the part is finished, it is separated from the tube. The puntill is what remains of that union between cane and object, and can be seen at its base.
