Handmade 100% cotton Dhurrie rug. Designed in our studio in Madrid and manufactured in a rural town on the outskirts of Bhadohi, India.

The manufacturing process for this type of rugs takes between 60 and 75 days for each rug, including the preparation process. They are made by a succession of horizontal fibers that cover the surface. This surface is made up of longitudinal white threads, called warps, that appear at the ends.

The birth of Dhurrie carpet weaving dates back to 3,000 BC. in Asia, specifically in India and neighboring countries.

Care instructions:

Regular Vacuuming : Vacuum the cotton rug regularly to remove dust, dirt and debris. *Use a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush to avoid excessive pulling or damaging the fibers.

Spot Cleaning: Address spills and stains immediately to prevent them from setting. Gently dry the affected area with a clean, absorbent cloth or paper towel. Avoid rubbing, as it can spread the stain and damage the fibers.

Hand wash: For delicate cotton rugs, it is best to wash them by hand. Fill a basin with cold water and mild detergent.
Gently stir the water to create foam. Immerse the rug and lightly scrub dirty areas with a soft brush.
Rinse well with cold water to remove all traces of detergent.

Drying: After washing, gently squeeze out excess water without wringing it out.
Lay the rug flat on a clean, dry surface, preferably on a towel, and reshape if necessary.
Avoid hanging the rug to dry as it may lose its shape. Let it air dry completely before using or storing it.

Avoid direct sunlight: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause colors to fade over time.
Place the rug away from strong sunlight to preserve its vibrant look.

Rotation: To ensure even wear, rotate your cotton rug from time to time.
