Tensira has produced a textile collection from cushions and quilts to table linen exclusively for Isita, with cheerful colours and prints.
The people of Tensira are known for the ancient art of indigo dyeing, extracted from the leaves of the indigo plant itself, achieving patterns of waters and shadows in vivid blues. These artisanal techniques inspired Hamidou of Guinean origin and his wife Tuulia of Finnish origin to create a textile house led by Guinean traditions.
The company is located near the capital of the Republic of Guinea, a place with a soul that surpasses the 5 senses, surrounded by greenery. The company already has more than 100 full-time employees, most of them women.
All the fabrics are made on traditional looms with more than 3000 hand-dyed threads. The fabrics are reused to achieve the least possible waste. The house uses natural kapok fibres, obtained from the fruit of native trees for the filling.
